When I created this membership, I didn’t just want to provide curriculum—I wanted to create a place where middle school science teachers could support one another, share ideas, ask questions, and celebrate the little classroom victories that only another science teacher truly understands.

Whether you’re brand new to teaching or have been in the classroom for years, I hope you’ll find encouragement, inspiration, and practical ideas here.

Hi everyone! I’m Karla, the creator of Sunrise Science. 👋

I taught middle school science for 15 years before making the exciting (and slightly scary!) decision to leave the classroom and focus full-time on creating curriculum for science teachers.

My favorite part of teaching has always been designing activities that help students truly understand science—not just memorize it. Helping teachers save time while creating engaging science classrooms has become my passion.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me spending time with my husband and two kids, gardening, hiking, or trying a new homesteading project like making sourdough, yogurt, or roasting my own coffee!
